Paramount Automotive Performance can modify and approve all modifications issuing Modification Plate & Certificate within the Queensland guidelines.

The responsibility for ensuring that a vehicle is roadworthy rests with its owner.

It is the owners responsibility to ensure that:

• The vehicle in its modified form continues to comply with the Road transport regulations and the Australian Design Rules (ADR) and;
• That the modifications do not reduce the strength, controllability or level of safety of the vehicle.

A modified vehicle must continue to comply with all applicable ADRs.

Any person considering substantial modifications to their vehicle is advised to engage the services of an approved persons who is experienced in vehicle design, standards & construction requirements, and is recognised by the department of transport for the purpose of issuing modification plate certificates.

Owners are advised that as part of the process of certification, an approved persons from Paramount Automotive Performance will need to inspect and in some cases, require tests to be carried out on components that in the finished vehicle will be inaccessible or not fully visible. Owners should therefore contact our office at the earliest possible stage (preferable before commencing the modification) and , arrange for the approved persons to inspect the vehicle at appropriate stages throughout the modification process.

A Simplified method for obtaining approvals

While there are some modifications which still require approval from Queensland Transport, most approvals can be obtained through the Approved Persons Scheme which operated throughout Queensland. This scheme allows quick and convenient evaluations and approvals.

What can Paramount Automotive Performance Approved persons approve?

Many modifications can be approved by Paramount Automotive Performance Approved persons, and include:

• Engine substitution
• Turbocharger & supercharger installation
• Transmission substitution
• Rear Axle replacement
• Differential substitution
• Brake System substitution
• Roll bar and roll cage installation
• Seating capacity alteration and seat belt installation
• Child restraint anchorage installation
• Fuel tank alteration
• Steering conversion

How do approve persons at Paramount Automotive Performance approve modifications?
We inspect the modified vehicle to ensure it complies with the Code of Practice. Our Approved Person will give you a certificate of modification and fit a modification plate to the vehicle if the changes meet the required standards.

How much do approvals cost?
A fee will be charged for any vehicle inspection and approval. This fee is not set by Queensland Transport. Approved persons set their own fees, which may vary depending on the modifications and the time involved in the inspection.

Do approved persons have to modify my car?
No. Although we do offer the service to modify your vehicle on your behalf, you can still do the modifications yourself. However, it is strongly suggested than an approved person is consulted prior to commencement of any modification to find out the relevant standards for approval.
